What I want to say to anyone experiencing a mental illness
#WORLDMENTALHEALTHDAY
Today is World Mental Health Day. With more than 1 in 5 Australians experiencing a mental illness, this is day is close to many of our hearts. We reached out to our community and asked them to share ONE thing they would like to say to people going through a tough time.
HERE’S WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY.
Ebony– “I know that this feels like it’s never going to get better, that this is how your life will be forever. But trust me, give it time. With time, comes those small steps in recovery. All those small steps add up to bigger leaps. It will take time and effort and dedication, every day, you will need to choose recovery. But you’ll get there. It will happen. Don’t give up just yet. There are people out there willing to listen and help you, use them. Do what’s best for you. You’ve got this“
Rebecca – “I WOULD LOVE TO THANK MY VERY CLOSE SUPPORT PEOPLE
They have been brilliant and a very good person from butterfly foundation to whom I correspond with
Thank you
If you are struggling please ask for help
Xxxxx bless you“
Nina– “You are worthy of being heard and your concern is valid”
Anonymous– “Everyone’s unique, so be fair and taker small steps”
Anonymous– “Be gentle with yourself!”
Dani– “No matter how slow it may seem things are going, forward is forward”
Isabella– “Don’t let fear stop you; be courageous. It’s a decision that doesn’t have to roar, but can just be the quiet voice at the end of the day that says “i will try again tomorrow”. Be courageous and set yourself free to spread your wings in this magnificent world we live in”
